SELECT YOUR FINISH
POLISHED FINISH
Beyond the gleam, a polished finish makes a smooth, easy-to-clean work surface that’s also less porous than other finishes. To maintain your high-shine look, clean your polished stone with a mild soap or our Stone Defender Disinfectant Cleaner. For a flawless shine year after year, we suggest an annual deep cleaning and polish as part of our Stone Defender Maintenance Plan.
HONED FINISH
Silky smooth and matte-looking, a honed finish is the ultimate in understated elegance. It offers a refined, more natural-looking stone with the ease of a smooth texture. A honed finish is less slippery than a polished finish and more easily conceals imperfections such as etching. On darker stones, honed finishes can sometimes show smudges and fingerprints. While this finish is slightly more porous than a polished finish, it’s equally easy to maintain with a mild soap or our Stone Defender Disinfectant Cleaner.
LEATHERED FINISH
Textured and matte, a leathered finish, also some- times called a brushed finish, has a raw, natural appeal. The feel of the stone is raised and pebbly though not at all sharp. The look is warm and comfortable showing the stone’s unique characteristics. A leathered finish easily hides imperfections, such as scratch marks. On darker stones, leathered finishes can sometimes show smudges and fingerprints. A leathered finish has more porosity than a polished or honed finish but can easily be cleaned with a mild soap or our Stone Defender Disinfectant Cleaner.
