Every slab of stone, like every person, has its own distinct characteristics. With a Custom Layout, you can choose where your stone’s most unique features will appear on your countertop. A Hard Rock Stone Works Stone Specialist can work with you to plan ideas based on your stone selection and countertop layout. In general, a Custom Layout works best for stones with dramatic color shifts, multi-directional patterns and interesting veining.

HOW WE CREATE YOUR CUSTOM LAYOUT.
FIRST, WE CREATE A DIGITAL MODEL CUSTOMIZED TO YOUR SPECIFICATIONS.
A skilled Hard Rock Stone Works technician will work with a digital image of your exact slab and your exact countertop layout. They’ll also work with your ideas and the stone’s natural strengths. This first draft will be sent to you as a JPEG.
MODIFICATIONS ARE MADE BASED ON YOUR INPUT.
At this stage, we work together to achieve your goals. It’s important to note that sometimes slab size or condition or even countertop specifications can preclude us from making certain changes. Just know we’ll do all we can to deliver what you want.
WITH YOUR APPROVAL, STONE CUTTING CAN BEGIN.
Before your stone is cut, we’ll send your Custom Layout via email for your final approval. Please use a high-quality desktop monitor or large tablet (at least 8 inches) to view your Custom Layout. While a phone screen can also display the image, it’s not optimal. IMPORTANT: Please provide final approval of your Custom Layout within 24 hours. Your timely reply will ensure we can deliver your stone on time.

HOW MUCH DOES A CUSTOM LAYOUT COST?
Because a Custom Layout is completely custom, there is not a standard price. Your stone specialist will with work with you to determine a price based on your stone selection and your countertop layout. For more information, contact your stone specialist.
WHAT IF MY FINAL APPROVED CUSTOM LAYOUT CHANGES DURING FABRICATION?
During fabrication your stone may perform differently than anticipated. Sometimes our stone artisans must act quickly and without your consent to make modifications that ensure you get the best possible layout. If this unavoidable circumstance occurs, you’ll receive a full refund for your Custom Layout service.
WHAT IF I DON’T CHOOSE TO HAVE A CUSTOM LAYOUT?
Please know we’ll always make every effort to create a beautiful layout for you. However, without a Custom Layout, you forgo collaboration in creating your layout as well as the approval step before cutting.
